Sachin Tendulkar hospitalized as a health precaution after testing COVID-19 positive


While congratulating his former teammates on the 10th anniversary of India’s historic 2011 World Cup win, Sachin Tendulkar – who tested positive for coronavirus – informed fans that he has been hospitalised as a precautionary measure and hopes to be back home with his family soon. 

“Thank you for your wishes and prayers. As a matter of abundant precaution under medical advice, I have been hospitalised. I hope to be back home in a few days. Take care and stay safe everyone. Wishing all Indians & my teammates on the 10th anniversary of our World Cup,” Tendulkar tweeted.

Earlier, Tendulkar had taken to Twitter and informed his fans about testing positive for the deadly virus. Once he made the revelation, wishes of speedy recovery started pouring in from all quarters.

Not long back, Tendulkar led the India Legends to the title in the Road Safety World Series tournament. India Legends beat their Sri Lankan counterparts in the summit clash. Tendulkar got among the runs in a couple of games and led from the front.

There has been a spike in the number of COVID-19 cases in Maharashtra and it would be interesting to see if fans and spectators are allowed into the Wankhede Stadium for the IPL games or not. With 8.646 new COVID-19 cases on Friday, the city has witnessed the highest-single day spike. The active cases in Mumbai city have crossed 55,000.
