SDMC announces additional tax rebate for people vaccinated against Covid-19

Individuals who have been vaccinated against Covid-19 can get a five per cent additional rebate in advance proper tax. The South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) has decided to offer the concession to individuals who have received the Covid-19 vaccine after NDMC had announced a similar incentive earlier.

SDMC's Standing Committee Chairman Rajdutt Gahlot said that the civic body has decided to allow special incentives in the form of additional tax rebate to the owners of residential properties if they get vaccinated against Covid-19.

Eligible property owners/taxpayers will get an additional 5 per cent rebate during payment of property tax. An office order in this regard has been issued by the department of the SDMC.

The additional concession on property tax is a part of SDMC’s effort to encourage more people to get vaccinated against Covid-19.

“Through such ways, we can get success in ensuring 100 per cent vaccinations of all who have attained the age of 45 years which will further help in containing the spread of Coronavirus,” Gahlot added.

It may be noted that the additional 5 per cent rebate will be granted if owners/taxpayers deposit property tax online and in one instalment before June 30. This will also include a 2 per cent rebate provided for online payment. If payment is being made through offline modes then a rebate of 3 per cent will be given.

The five per cent rebate will be an additional benefit for Covid-vaccinated people, and the 15 per cent rebate for depositing property tax before June 30 will be applicable to all.
